I trust that everyone had a wonderful weekend, as I know many people took part in the costume parties and festivities throughout the Pontiac in celebration of Halloween.
I hear the annual party at Gavan’s was a hoot as usual. My mom and some of her friends took part in the Shawville Curling Club’s Halloween-themed car rally and I know they enjoyed their day as well. It was fun to see all of the different costumes in photos on Facebook.
The Provost family celebrated with their annual costume party on Saturday and for added fun this year they were taking part in Halloween-themed challenges leading up to the big day. We have had a great time following along, as my sister and brother-in-law and their kids made up Team Alien and each week we enjoyed hearing what their challenge was.
The videos and pictures they captured were priceless, with the highlight being the video I saw of Eric Provost doing the chicken dance outside of Marcottes’ Store. I had no idea Eric was such a great dancer. I know they all had a great time and they all really appreciate the hard work that goes into the organization of the event each year.
Birthday wishes are going out to Doug Kennedy and Melanie McCann-Lang on Nov. 1.
A huge happy 40th birthday is going out to Shawn Schwartz on Nov. 2 from his whole family. Happy birthday to Dianne McCann, also on Nov. 2 and to Laura Stewart and Chris MacKechnie both on Nov. 3. Best wishes to everyone celebrating this week.
The Quyon Legion has started their poppy campaign for this year so be sure to pick up your poppy and make a donation to support our veterans.
The Remembrance Day Parade and Service will be held this coming Sunday, commencing at 1:45 p.m. The parade will leave the Legion and head to the Cenotaph, followed by a light lunch back at the Legion afterwards. They always do such a nice job with this service, please plan to attend.
I am looking forward to seeing all of the kids dressed up tonight and handing out treats. Have a safe and happy Halloween.
