Congratulations to Erin (Powell) and Dan Fish who welcomed a baby boy last week. They named him Elliott Randall and his big sister Charlee is very proud. Best wishes to the whole family.
Warm wishes are extended to Andrew Hickey and Shelby Crick who were married this past weekend in Alberta. Andrew had a group of family and friends who made the trip west to celebrate with him and his new bride. He is the son of Bernice and Mike Hickey and grandson of Anita Draper. This past Saturday, we had a wonderful beach day in Sand Point, Ont. at my aunt and uncle’s home on the river. I kept cool in the water for much of the afternoon and had a great time watching the little cousins playing together. We enjoyed a delicious barbeque supper and had a great visit with family. It was a perfect summer day. Thank you to Aunt Marion and Uncle Eric for having us.
On Sunday, we had a special treat at church as Thomas Alary led the service while our minister Rev. Éric Hébert-Daly was away on vacation. Thomas did a terrific job and even delivered his own sermon which he wrote himself. Well done.
My birthday week is coming up, so I am happy to send out birthday wishes to all who are celebrating with me. I’ll be starting my birthday party early this year as the annual Quyon Tractor and Truck Pull is on this Saturday, July 27. Fingers are crossed for good weather and a great turnout. It has become one of my favourite summer events since it returned to Quyon several years ago. Looking forward to seeing everyone out for a fun day.
