Congratulations to Brian and Juniper (Demers) Young on the safe arrival of their . . .

new baby girl, Layla. She was born on Oct. 10 and she is a little sister for Adelyne. Wishing the family all the best with their new little bundle of pink.

Best wishes are also extended to Kristen (Stanley) and Kyle Timpson on the birth of their first child a baby boy named Henry, on Oct. 17. Congratulations and all the best to them as they welcome their little one to the family.

The Quyon Lionettes hosted their annual car rally on Saturday and over 40 cars went out for a day of fun, answering questions and searching for clues following the theme of “Where In the World Are We?” The rally was organized by last year’s winners, Kelly O’Connell, Ashley Carson-Taylor, Chelsea Carson-MacGregor, Shellbie Greer, Gabrielle Breton-Rocan and Amanda Page-Carson. The weather was beautiful and it was a fun day as always.

The big winners this year were Sue McKay, Charlene Aubertin, Cassandra McKay, and Kara Hardie. The best costumes went to the Wanderlust Women: Neve Young, Danica Provost, Kara Young, Marion Draper and Elizabeth Young. The best decorated car went to the team O Waldo, Where Art Thou: Shannon Johnston-McCann, Karen and Brad Cull, Brandon and Nicole Belaire and Kathleen and Alex Honeywell. They were also the team that finished in second place overall.

My team, Waldo’s Girls, finished in 10th place and we had a great time introducing our new recruits, Charlotte Dowe and Maddy Belland, to the rally. We are already looking forward to next year.

The lucky winner of the 50/50 was Bonnie Fraser-Dowe and there was also a terrific array of door prizes handed out that were donated by several local businesses. Kudos to all involved in organizing this event. It is always a highlight of the year.

We have birthday wishes going out this week to Rilen Richardson on Oct. 26, to Paisley Thomson on Oct. 28, and to Brady Trudeau on Oct. 29. Wishing everyone celebrating this week all the best.
