The MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police confirmed in a Nov. 6 Facebook post that an investigation is under way into the Oct. 28 incident in which a flaming trailer was parked at the Quyon fire hall.
THE EQUITY heard from several witnesses who provided evidence that a man drove the trailer into Quyon and abandoned it at the fire station, including testimony from an anonymous volunteer firefighter who spoke with radio station 104.7 Outaouais on Oct. 30.

In that interview, the firefighter said he followed the man driving the flaming trailer down chemin Lac-des-Loups into Quyon, where the man abandoned the trailer at the fire station. The firefighter said he then followed the man back up chemin Lac-des-Loups, at which point the man allegedly got out of his car and fired a shotgun several times in the firefighter’s direction.

THE EQUITY made many attempts to confirm details of the incident with the MRC des Collines police at the time, but the police said nobody familiar with the file was available to speak to the media.
This week’s Facebook post said an investigation has been underway since Oct. 28, the night the incident occurred.

“At this point, investigators are still determining the accuracy of certain facts and the circumstances surrounding the incident and are awaiting certain forensic results,,” the post reads, adding that the police do not deem the public to be at risk.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the police are encouraging anyone with information on the incident to pass it on confidentially by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-711-1800 or online at https://signalement.echecaucrime.com/.
