More than 100 people stopped by the Legion in Quyon for the annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper laid on last week by the Quyon Lions Club.

Heath Kelly, Julia Bernier and Caryl McCann served up pancakes, sausages, ham, beans, and, of course, real maple syrup to the long line of hungry guests.

Lions Club member Eric Provost took a shift flipping pancakes in the kitchen upstairs at the Legion. Other cooks in the kitchen were Glen Leach, Ray Johnston and Eddie McCann, while Rolly Bernier and Shawn Brady spent the evening on the staircase, running pancakes down to the servers.

“It’s a fundraiser,” said event coordinator Hollie Leach. “We never do anything to make huge amounts of money, we just make it to kind of keep us going so we can throw the money back into the community.”
