The Jack Graham Community Center in Bristol was packed on Saturday night for a celebration of the local fire department.
The annual fundraiser ball brought out well over 100 people and featured plenty of liquid refreshments and lots of feet moving on the dance floor.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by the John Priebe Band, who journeyed down from Pembroke for the occasion and kept the party lively, playing a mix of old and new country music.
“We have them pretty near every year,” said Fire Chief Kevin Kluke, explaining that the band’s diverse repertoire appeals to the multiple generations in attendance.
Kluke said that the department has around 20 members and although they aren’t currently fundraising for any specific equipment, community support is always appreciated.
“We’re just always fundraising for our firefighters,” he said.
Kluke added that this year, four members of the department graduated from their pumper course and two started officer courses. Three members are working their way through their Firefighter One course.
In addition to the music and dancing, there was a silent auction and a 50/50 draw with four bottles of spirits as the prizes.
