The Quebec Conservative Party has announced Éric Lanthier as its candidate for the Pontiac riding in the upcoming provincial election. While his name and photo have been uploaded to the party’s website, his biography is listed as of Sept. 7 as “to come”.
His personal social media page lists him as a relationship coach, and links to a business website offering various kinds of counseling. THE EQUITY reached out to Lanthier for an interview but he did not respond in time for publication.
The Quebec Conservative Party candidate in the 2022 election, Terrence Watters, finished fourth with 10.92 per cent (3,118 votes).
This fall’s elections are scheduled for Oct. 5. So far in the Pontiac riding, three-term incumbent André Fortin has been named as the Liberal candidate, Mariana Mefleh has been named as the CAQ candidate, Marcela Cazas has declared for the Parti Québécois, Bianca Baldo has declared for Québec solidaire and Will Twolan is the candidate for the Canadian Party of Quebec.
