Support Local Journalism Through Optional Contributions
For over 140 years, The Equity has been the Voice of the Pontiac — keeping the people who live here informed, connected, and heard. Recently, we doubled down on that mission by increasing the size of our newspaper, adding four extra pages every week. That has allowed us to share more local stories, bigger photos, and new favorites like our weekly crossword, local Pontiac trivia, and our Community Calendar so readers can stay up to date on all that’s happening in the Pontiac.
But producing high-quality journalism is not cheap. Due to challenging times in the printing business, our newsprint costs have nearly doubled in just one year.
We’ve made a firm commitment to freeze subscription rates for the next two years to support our readers, many of whom are seniors on fixed incomes. However, many of you have asked how you can do more.
We recently launched an optional “contribution” amount, available to all new subscribers, and dozens have voluntarily decided to pay more for their subscription. Contributions like these go a long way to help us offset rising costs and keep the paper affordable for everyone.
Whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring annual contribution, your support will help fund independent local journalism and ensure The Voice of the Pontiac remains loud and clear.
