On Sept 28 Visages régionaux’s podcast “On le fait!’’ launched on Radio-Canada Ohdio. The long-awaited podcast featured some local businesses to talk about art, culture and entrepreneurship.

This project is a collaboration between MRC Pontiac and six other partner regions across Quebec (MRC Antoine-Labelle, MRC Avignon, MRC Brome-Missisquoi, the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine, & MRC de Portneuf).

The Equity spoke to Marie‑Eve Arbour, the president of the marketing firm who highlighted that the response from community members and listeners has been positive.

After collecting all the information in the past couple of months, the team set out for about two months in post-op production doing the storytelling aspect explained Arbour. During that time they were able to pick out parts of the interviews they wanted to highlight in the podcast, take 24 interviews and fit them into six episodes.

“The whole process and the post-production is about what we have and what’s the strongest parts and we just want to put that out there. So we made some changes, but at least we have the best parts of each and every discussion that we have,” said Arbour.

In addition for the next four months, they are doing a social media campaign to help promote the podcast. Parallel to that, the marketing team has also created multimedia web content about each person featured in the podcast, she said. This allows people to dive deeper into each story but with formats that are different.

“It is a 360 content strategy. We have the web platform and we’re putting it on our social media to make people click and go on the website,” she said.

During this process, they were trying new things along the way, for instance, the 360 strategy they implemented meant they didn’t just phone up the business but rather went on a road trip and met folks in their territories and recorded video and audio and made it multidimensional, she added.

“We learned a lot. We did it before in small territories, but we never did it in that kind of intensity,” said Arbour.

They also host webinars once a month focused on solutions that municipalities and MRCs can put in place to address some of the struggles faced in small territories, she said.

Working in the Pontiac, the team was met with open arms said Arbour. “Each and every time we come to the Pontiac it’s so easy and it’s so simple to connect with people and we feel that our work in the Pontiac is making a difference and that people like what we do and enjoy it. So it’s a good feeling to contribute to the development of a community such as the Pontiac.”

They are currently working on finalizing the structure of the second season, which will have a different approach. They hope to tackle one idea per episode which will be less complicated. People can expect four to six episodes in 2023.
