Julien St-Jean
Shawville June 16, 2021
Having grown up in a small town like Richmond, Ont. I feel right at home in a place like Shawville. Though I’m new to the region, I know my love for learning and the region’s rich history. . .
will help me get familiar with the Pontiac’s different communities in no time at all. I can’t wait to discover a love for the community as deep as the one I have for my home town.
As one of the newest additions to the Equity’s editorial team, I’ll do my best to keep you informed about what’s going on in the region and show off what life is like in the community. I’ll be writing about many of the different events, historical sites and interesting people that can be found in the Pontiac.
My interest in journalism comes from my desire to learn about a variety of different topics and showcase what life is like for all sorts of different people. I love hearing about what gets people excited and then relaying that information through my writing.
As a recent graduate of Algonquin College’s journalism program, I’m a newcomer to the journalism industry, but am always looking for new and interesting stories. In my time at Algonquin, I developed all sorts of different reporting and editing skills that I can’t wait to put to use for the Equity.
In my free time, you can find me reading, kayaking, working on small woodworking projects, gaming with friends and learning about history. If you see me in the area, don’t hesitate to stop and chat.
