Regional health officials are asking residents to remain vigilant despite the continued decrease in active cases throughout the Outaouais.
As of May 10, the Pontiac service area (RLS) had 32 active cases, after coming in at 52 on May 3. The RLS’s cumulative total rose to 330, from 304 last week.

312 active cases (11,673 total, 11,156 recovered) as of May 10, which is a decrease of 154 from May 3. There were 53 hospitalizations at the designated COVID-19 centre in Hull, up three from last week, with eight of those people in intensive care. The regional death count rose by eight, and it stood at 205 since the pandemic began as of Monday.
In a May 5 press conference held by the CISSSO, the regional health authority, interim public health director Dr. Brigitte Pinard said that complying with the existing public health measures are essential to fully escape the third wave.
Pinard said that the vaccination process continues to go smoothly, as she said that roughly one per cent of the population in the region was being vaccinated each day.
As of May 5, those aged 40 and older could sign up for a vaccine appointment, May 7 for those aged 35 and older, May 10 for those aged 30 and up and May 12 for those aged 25 and older. Beginning on May 14, the final group of adults, those aged 18 and older, will be allowed to sign up for a booking.
