Well, we really have nothing to complain about weather wise considering what Newfoundland got on . . .
Friday and Saturday with over three feet of snow and 160 km/h winds. I remember as a child having a severe snowstorm like that where we had to cancel our way but that was over 50 years ago. I remember the snow being as high as the telephone wires but that was also due to drifting snow.
In all the interviews they do with the Newfoundlanders do you notice that they’re all happy and taking everything with a grain of salt?
Another serious story that came out last week was people are not cleaning off the cars. One man got severely injured when a chunk of ice came flying from another car through his windshield. Thankfully it didn’t kill him but it really damaged his face and car. Please take the time to clean off your cars and consider the person behind you.
I would like to send happy birthday wishes to the following people: Steve Morin and Lise Crawford on Jan. 23, to Merlyn Brown and my sister Lynn Leach on Jan. 26, to Maurice Beauregard and Joan Frost on Jan. 27 and to Cecile Smith on Jan. 28.
Happy anniversary to Hal and Lise Crawford on Jan. 24.
Monday was Jan. 20 and it was actually the middle of winter and from here on in our days of winter are getting longer with daylight and hopefully warmer. We can then start counting the days until spring which I’m sure quite a few of you are waiting on. These past few weeks it seems that every weekend we are getting bad weather. Hopefully this will change soon.
