October is always the month to make pumpkin pies and apple pies which I have for sale. So if any of you . . .

want some pies for Thanksgiving come and get them. Please give me a call first.

We also have to get ready for that white stuff. I’ve been busy this week putting the wood in the basement and cleaning out the garden. I still have turnips, beets, carrots and potatoes in the garden but that can wait for a few more weeks.

I would like to wish the following people a very happy birthday Beverly Stewart on Oct. 9, Kyle Wicks and Sheila Brown on Oct. 10, Mildred Desjardins on Oct. 11, Joanne Collin Hearty, Anne Sammon and Philip Pilon on Oct. 12 and to Ben Duquette on Oct. 14.

I would also like to send anniversary wishes out to Debbie and Kevin Sloan who celebrate on Oct. 10.

Oktoberfest was on this past weekend and I heard it was a very good turn out but I wasn’t able to go because I had so much to do here. I was gone the whole month of September so now I have to do all the catch up work that I should have done in September. Thank God for friends and neighbours who help out whenever I’m in need.

My daughter, Shelley and her husband Carl and my grandchildren Tao and Corben will be coming home this weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving. I can hardly wait to see the boys they’re getting so big and tall. Every time I see them they’ve grown another couple of inches. It’s amazing to watch them grow. I find that the kids are getting so much taller and their feet are getting so much longer then ever before. Sometimes we mistake a two-year-old for a four-year-old because they’re so tall.

Congratulations to Karen Frost and Mario Ladouceur on the birth of their second child Jacob.

Our sympathies go out to the family of Veronique Bourque who passed away at the age of 17 on Oct.1. She was the daughter of Martin Bourque and Lucille Belair.
