On Saturday afternoon, Peter Morris organized a birthday party for his wife Michelle at Rita’s farm in Chichester, Que.

The monthly 50/50 draw to support the Residence Meilleur took place at George’s Bar on Friday at 8 p.m. Bert Dufour, the August winner of $5,000, was called upon to select the winning ticket. After the barrel with all 500 tickets was well stirred he reached in and selected the September winner of $5,000. It turned out to be a repeat winner. Sherry Duval, who is employed at Finnigan’s Restaurant in Pembroke, Ont., had also won $4,800 on the June draw. Congratulations Sherry and thank you for your support.

St. Alphonsus Parish served a delicious turkey supper on Sunday to approximately 1,000 people. It was very well organized. A tip of the hat to Fr. Tim Moyle and his helpers.
