I would like to send out my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Ron Orr who passed away March 19. He will always be remembered for his musical talent and he was a great family man.

My condolences to the friends and family of Fred Deering who passed away March 2. Most of us would know him as the Quiet Man. He leaves behind his siblings William, Della, Freda, Wayne and Arno.

Will winter ever end? I’m sick of it now and only have a few sticks of wood left. I have never used all my wood before. I usually have a cord or two left in April. I heard that the summer is going to be wickedly hot. Then we can start howling about the heat. I guess we’re never happy.

I would like to send out wishes for a speedy recovery to Bobby Ostrom who underwent surgery last week. I know he’s already bored and we’ll have to keep him busy although he can’t lift anything more than five pounds. I told him he’d have to take up knitting and he said he already knows how. What a character.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Relics Leach who celebrates today, to Barney Holland and Shane Jolin on March 29, to Angie Neumann on March 31, to Charlene Moore on April 1, and to Debbie Bertrand and Scott Laporte on April 2.

My sister Lynn and her husband David Leach just became grandparents again for the third time on March 19. Their daughter Vanessa gave birth to a beautiful baby boy who they named Nash. He weighed eight pounds and one ounce.

On March 22 Theresa and I went with aunt Betty Mayhew to Renfrew and caught the bus to go to the casino in Rideau Carleton. On the way we picked up our cousin Elaine Burke. Our other two cousins Freda Dupuis and Ramona Dunahee were going to meet us at the racetrack. When the bus pulled up they were standing there with placards with our faces on them, asking everyone if they had seen these people. Everybody on the bus thought it was hilarious as did we. You never know what Ramona and Freda will think of but it will be something funny. We had lunch together and played a few games. It was a great day being together with friends and family.

Get well wishes go out to Gracy Kellaris Vibert who is a patient at the Shawville Hospital.

I would also like to wish Jessica Paquette a speedy recovery after her operation.
