The galloping grannies were at it again this weekend. Theresa and I left on Friday morning and headed to Port Carling, Ont. where our children, Shelly and Carl live with our two wonderful grandsons, Corben and Tao.
We made a few stops along the way and finally arrived about 4 p.m. The boys are growing in leaps and bounds and have already shot past me in height. Corben turned 16 in December and he has his G1 or whatever they call it in Ontario. Tao turned 15 on March 18 and that’s why we came to visit.
On Saturday, we girls went and had a manicure and pedicure. Then we did some shopping. Shelly wants to learn to crochet so we bought hooks and wool and headed home.
Carl cooked a fantastic meal for us and we celebrated Tao’s birthday that night. He really enjoyed his presents and Shelly made him an ice cream cake. That was a big hit with the boys.
We were supposed to leave Sunday but they convinced us to stay one more day. I showed Shelly how to crochet Granny squares. Does anyone have extra wool lying around? I’ll buy it. We returned home Monday.
Thank you to my neighbour, Jerry Pepin for taking care of my house while I was gone. It’s so great living in Vinton with all the wonderful, helpful neighbours.
