Lorna and Vince Agnesi of Sheenboro are proud to announce the promotion of their daughter Carla, who lives in Toronto, to Sports Media Manager for CBC Toronto. They are going to Toronto to celebrate with her this week. While there, they will attend the play “Come From Away.” Last week they saw Gordie Lightfoot in Ottawa, Ont. and Wayne Rostad in Pembroke, Ont.
Raymond Morris is feeling much better. He has decided to stay at Riverview Heights for the winter. He will be missed at our 5 p.m. mass in Sheenboro which he attended faithfully.
Birthday greetings and best wishes go out to Rita Fox, Barbara Walker and Mayor Winston Sunstrum of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes on Dec. 5, Tom Donlan of Montreal on Dec. 6 and to Betty Morris on Dec. 9. We wish all our birthday people good health and all the best for the coming year.
Congratulations go out to Ivon Nephin Kohlsmith who celebrated her 96th birthday on the weekend. Family and relatives gathered at Dyamics in Pembroke, Ont. for a nice dinner and reminiscing. Her two sisters, Sharon of Saskatchewan and Clare and husband Jim of Oshawa, Ont. also attended the dinner. A great pastime for her is attending quilt shows with her daughter Velma. She loves reading and one of her favourite authors is Mary Cook who wrote many books about growing up in the Ottawa Valley. She was telling me that she had Mary Cook’s whole collection. She also loves games, especially when she gets to teach her nieces how to play.
If you have a birthday or just something special you would like to share with folks, don’t hesitate to give me a call or an email and I would be happy to put it in the Sheen News.
