Our sympathy to the family and friends of Myrtle Deering who passed away last week at the age of 91 years. Myrtle lived most of her life in Ladysmith and was in a nursing home in Brockville, Ont. for the last few years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Our sympathy to the family and friends of Everett McDowell who passed away last week in the Shawville Community Hospital. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A week ago last Monday, I got very sick and had to go to the hospital by ambulance in the afternoon. I was in until Sunday afternoon. My heart was the problem and I also had a blood infection and a bladder infection. They have increased all my heart medications. I am still quite weak and I am trying to get my strength back.

Our sympathy to the family and friends of Mrs. Clifford Scharfe of Wakefield, Que. who also passed away last week. They had a team of horses and have been to Ladysmith to do some judging in the past.
Allison Corrigan called to report that the pancake supper the Orange Lodge had last Thursday was well attended. Everyone enjoyed the meal that was delicious as usual.
This weather is unbelievable and it is supposed to be like this until Thursday and by Saturday the temperature is to go up to 13 degrees Celsius. Hopefully we will finally get some nice, spring weather. I haven’t gotten my tomato seeds planted yet but maybe this week. With this terrible weather it is hard to think about gardening.
Happy birthday to Robert Wilson on April 19, to Steve Havilin on April 20, to Gillian Pasch on April 23 and to June Krose on April 22.
Happy anniversary to Robert and Lorna Younge on April 18 and to Marilyn and Lorne Campeau on April 19.
I don’t have much news this week. If anyone has something for next week just give me a call at 819-647-5304.
