The Way We Were:

Local News: The Bristol Busy Bees met at the home of Mrs. Ruby Armstrong on Thursday with 17 members and 3 visitors present. The program was in charge of Mrs. G. Carmichael, convener of education, who gave interesting papers on “The story of a zipper” , “Beware of broken fluorescent lights,” “The new drug cortisone used for rheumatic fever.”

Dainty refreshments were served by the hostess assisted by Mrs. Roland Russell and Mrs. R.A. Grant.
Word has been received here of the sudden death at Ivanhoe, Ont., of Rev. Robert J. Robertson, minister in Shawville Standard church from 1940 to 1943.

Boy scouts will be on the fair grounds during the fair. They will have first aid equipment and will be at the service of anyone needing attention.
