The Ladies of St. Paul’s church will hold a social on Wednesday next, Oct. 10th, in Hodgins’ hall. Good program and refreshments. Admission, 15 cents; children under 7, 10 cents.

Vinton: There will be a grand concert in Vinton on Tuesday evening, the 9th of October, in which the ablest talent from Ottawa will participate in conjunction with our local musical celebrities. All is under the able management of the Rev. Father Ferreri, who will spare no pains to make it a complete success. At the close of the concert the Rev. Father Sloan will deliver a lecture descriptive of his recent tour in Europe.

As the reverend gentleman is an able speaker, besides a profound scholar, his lecture in respect to the countries traversed and the historic and classic localities visited will be both interesting and instructive.
