Doctors open office in Quyon: Ever since the sudden death of Dr. R.M. Hudson last March, Quyon and District has been without a doctor.
All that is now changed with the opening of a doctors office in the Davis building on Clarendon Street next to the Davis Garage.
Mrs. Joan Desabrais has been appointed receptionist and besides being in the office during regular office hours, will accept calls by telephone.
Doctors from the Aylmer Medical Centre will staff the office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
CBOT special captures Mac Beattie at his best: On Monday evening, CBOT viewers will have an opportunity to enjoy some of the finest entertainment in the Ottawa Valley. The program is the Mac Beattie Special, and the performers include singer Mac Beattie, his daughter Bonnie, The Ottawa Valley Melodiers and step dancers Donnie and Gina Gilchrist.
This half hour colour special was video-taped in September at a live concert one evening at Gavan’s Hotel in Quyon. Enthusiasm among the patrons created a spirit of revelry that kept things happening long after the show was over and is communicated to the television audience through the sparkling performances of Mac, Donnie, their talented daughters and others.
The stage was a special reconstruction of a 1946 stake truck similar to the one Mac and the Melodiers often played from in their early days, almost thirty years ago.
