Pontiac High School students rank among Quebec’s best cross country runners: St. Anne de Beaupré, near Quebec City, will long be remembered by Pontiac High School cross-country teams. This was the site last weekend of the provincial cross-county championships, attracting the best runners from across Quebec. Twelve Pontiac runners along with 26 of the best from other schools in Western Quebec were picked to represent the Outaouais region.

A challenging course had been prepared for the 500 registered runners. Steep hills, rocky inclines, winding wooded paths would all provide a suitable “test for the best”.

The Outaouais finished a respectable 6th among the 12 regions representing Quebec.

Top individual performances from our school in their respective age categories were registered by: Steve Jodoin: 6th out of 80 runners; Phyllis Smart: 19th out of 80; Leslie Orr: 20th out of 80; Gerry Lang: 24th out of 80 and Wayne Lang: 26th out of 80 runners.
