The Way We Were:

Local News: Those attending the International Rotary Convention at Hull last week included Mr. and Mrs. Claire Jacques and Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Rowatt.

The Bristol Memorial Ladies Aid met at the home of Mrs. George Russell. Mrs. R.A. Grant presided. Several articles on the sales table were sold. During the afternoon, two quilts were quilted which are to be sold at a later date. Refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by Mr. Roland Russell and Mrs. Lindon Young.
Friends and neighbours gathered at Maryland Station Thursday evening to welcome home Mr. Bert Hannaberry who has spent seventeen months in hospitals in Ottawa and Toronto.

Flood victims from all over the Dominion are wondering when they can return to their homes in the Winnipeg district. With some 80,000 people already evacuated from the flood area and more leaving every day, the Manitobans are in almost every province, the wandering throng which have been taken into many Canadian homes until the flood waters recede.
