Local News: Frosts on three successive nights last week and again on Sunday, did considerable damage to early garden stuff and fruit trees in bloom. Warm weather is predicted soon.

The west end of the village was invaded by two large moose on Friday morning and were seen by several of the residents of that section. On entering Hilliard Hodgins’ barnyard, they were scared by his dog and went off in a southerly direction.

The man with an unsavoury police record, Frank James, who killed Charles Underwood in an Albert Street, Ottawa rooming house and who made a successful get-away to the Quebec side, has so far managed to sidestep all efforts of the police to round him up.

Bandits in ambush attacked a touring car with members of the Capital City Water Polo Club while motoring between Montreal and Ottawa on Monday morning.

One member of the party was wounded in the arm and the windshield of the car was shattered by bullets.
