Shawville citizens gave tangible evidence of their appreciation of the services performed by Mrs. Robt. Hobbs, in her capacity of assistant to her late husband as postmaster for many years, and latterly on assuming charge of the office herself, by presenting her with a substantial sum of money one day last week. The presentation was made informally by Messrs J. H. Stewart and L. E. Thomson, at Mrs. Hobbs’ home and was accompanied by a short address, with a list of the donors, subjoined.
