A little of this and that: The egg of the week . . . One of Mrs. H. N. Hodgins’ Gray-rock Hens laid an Easter egg on Easter Sunday that measured 7 x 8 1/2 inches.
Thereby hangs a tale . . . A cute little Holstein heifer was born on the farm of James Telford at McKee WITHOUT A SIGN OF A TAIL!
Surely this is it . . . Ned Cowan found a row of tulips poking their brave little noses through the ground Wednesday afternoon. Twenty four hours earlier the same spot had been covered with snow so it must surely be Spring!
Gone with the wind . . . A box of valuable books and papers which High School Principal Jack Tolhurst had set aside in the school basement. Before he had caught up with them they’d been burned as garbage.
So you think you’ve got troubles: There is a good reason why your Equity is late this week. The Wilson Publishing Co., of New Toronto, from whom we purchase our paper just failed to deliver it. After two long distance telephone calls, the paper finally arrived Thursday night. In addition, the following have made life somewhat difficult this week: The editor’s wife is ill in Woodbridge, Ont., having been unable to return after a brief Easter vacation; One member of the staff had a death in his family this week; Another member of the staff missed his bus on the weekend and arrived a day late. The editor has the hives.
