The Way We Were:

Farewell tea for the Sisters of St. Joseph Campbell’s Bay: On Sunday, the parish of St. John the Evangelist of Campbell’s Bay held a farewell tea in honour of the Sisters of St. Joseph who are closing the convent there after fifty years of community service.

The auditorium of St. John’s Elementary School, where about 400 people met in the course of the afternoon, was beautifully decorated in red and gold and copies of the Coat of Arms.

Everyone enjoyed the buffet lunch which was prepared by the Ladies of the Catholic Women’s League.
Canada Council grant: Miss Carol Bretzlaff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bretzlaff, has just received word of her second Canada Council Award in sculpture and drawing.

A graduate of Mount Allison University in Fine Arts, Carol took further studies at McGill in education. This year she joined the staff of P.P.H.S. as art teacher. Recently, she exhibited at the Wells Gallery and is currently exhibiting at Visual Arts, Ottawa.
