These are St. Paul’s, Shawville; Holy Trinity, Radford and St. Luke’s, Caldwell. The new rector succeeds Rev. Anselm Broburg, who was transferred to a parish near Albany, N. Y., three months ago. Fiancee Of Stark’s Veteran Here After Five Years: A wartime romance that came to a temporary halt five years ago will bloom again this Friday when the girl in question lands at Montreal. Waiting at Stark’s Corners for her to arrive here will be Cedric Elliott, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Elliott, who last saw Eveline McGee in Belfast, Ireland, in 1945 when he returned to Canada for discharge from the Army.
Miss McGee is accompanied by her parents and her two brothers and when they arrive at Stark’s Corners they will be living with Miss McGee’s father’s brother, John Megrath. Arriving on the same boat, from England is Mrs. Iverson Harris’ sister. Iverson and Pat are at Montreal waiting for the boat.
A little of this and that: Catch Of The Week . . . A large mottled spider, as yet unidentified, was brought into The Equity Office last week by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Walsh. They caught it in their cottage at Norway Bay and their son Ronald measured it at 3 1/2 inches. It is on display in the front window of The Equity and anyone may have same by identifying it. It’s still living.
Barter department . . . Will trade a slightly used bottle of sun-tan lotion, for a good pair of rubber boots. Apply The Equity.
Broken in . . . H. I. Hobb’s new Buick, in which a number of local high school students were given a ride home this week.
