QPF members visit schools to push safety: The Provincial Police Force, Campbell’s Bay Detachment, has been sending out two of its members to the various schools around Pontiac County to explain some of the most important safety rules to students of all ages.
They are Robert Martin and Michel Leduc, both of whom appeared on last week’s edition of Pontiac Now over CHOV-TV.
Nancy Herault and Gilles Ladouceur, pupils of the Poupore School in Fort Coulonge enjoyed getting a look at the inside of the police car and the whole school appreciated hearing the inside story of police work.
Bryson Winter Carnival: Despite the fact that Bryson was almost buried beneath the heavy mid-winter snowfall that began with their carnival and never stopped all weekend, this little valley village bristled with gaiety and activity as the Bryson Recreation Association held their annual Winter Carnival.
A teen dance was held on Friday night as the town hall rocked to the thumping beats that delight the young.
Busloads of teenagers from other parts of the Pontiac converged upon Bryson to make a full capacity crowd for this event.
Throughout Saturday and Sunday, the new outdoor rink built by the R.A. sang to the sound of flying skates as young people came from neighbouring villages to join Brysons’ young people participating in broom-ball tournaments, hockey, speeding skating, etc.
Figure skaters from Renfrew and skidoo events were added Sunday features.
