CT scan campaign on fast track: If the current rate of donating continues, a CT scan will likely be a reality for Pontiac Community Hospital a year earlier than expected.
Eighteen months into the campaign, more than $500,000 has been raised. Organizers expect to reach their goal of $700,000 by August, a full year ahead of schedule.
“I’ve never seen such a response from a community,” said Donald Lavallée, chairman of the CT scan committee.
“Once they hit the $700,000 mark, it will be only a matter of months before the new technology is in place at PCH,” said Charlotte L’Écuyer, PCH director-general.
Open house at Tim Horton Foundation camp a hit: They came, they saw, they had a great time. About 1,500 people, some from as far away as Montreal, made their way to the Tim Horton Foundation camp Saturday and Sunday for the third annual winter-time open house.
“We’re the only (Tim Horton Foundation) camp across Canada with a winter camp,” said manager Louis Diorio, adding they have been running summer open houses for several years now. Camp employees volunteered their time to help make the weekend a success.
There was plenty to do for both kids and adults, whether skating on the Ottawa River, ice-fishing, going for a snowmobile-pulled tube ride courtesy of Campbell’s Welding, or sliding on the hill.
