The Way We Were:

Local News: A crowd of over 700 people packed the Shawville arena Wednesday to witness one of the most thrilling encounters ever held there. Final results of the game was 14-7 in favour of lower Pontiac but the play was not as one-sided as the seven goal margin would seem to indicate.

The game was a benefit for the executive of local Farm Forum. The crowd represented all corners of the counties, crowded in to see some of the famous names who made local hockey history many years ago. There were moments of brilliant play which usually culminated in a Finnigan goal. Quite a few of the spectators were carried back many years as the old time stars gave an outstanding, though rusty, display of their talents.
The carnival which was held Saturday night at Elmside rink sponsored by the Elmside Farm Forum was largely attended. The costumes were many and varied and after much discussion the judges, Mrs. Jas. Campbell, Wyman and Mrs. L. Smith, Bristol, decided on those eligible for prizes.
