The Way We Were:

Local News: A.G. Proudfoot, proprietor of the Pontiac House, which was utterly destroyed by the recent fire, has opened up the Howard building on Main Street as a place of public accommodation. Every effort will be made to serve old customers and the public generally in a satisfactory manner.

Christmas, that particularly joyous season of the year to which the Christian world looks forward, is only a few days distant and our local merchants and dealers have their preparations well advanced to meet the wishes and requirements of prospective seekers after holiday goods, novelties, toys, fancy confectionery and varied articles to make glad the hearts of those who are to be remembered in some appropriate and tangible way.

Five of our local hockey enthusiasts motored to Ottawa last Wednesday evening to witness the professional league match between Ottawa Senators and Hamilton Tigers.
