Bryson takes Shawville Intermediate fastball tournament: The Shawville Fastball Association had a very successful tournament this past weekend in conjunction with O’Keefe Breweries.

The big winners were Bryson taking a 2-1 hard fought victory over the Ottawa Senators. In the consolation final Maheral Trucking “Intermediates champs in Quyon” took Bayshore 8-6 in ten innings.

The most valuable player in the tournament was Bob Essiambre whose pitching was a major factor in Bryson’s winning. He received a $25 cheque.

Bryson Lions Picnic:  Among the activities at the Bryson Lions Picnic, Donnie Gilchrist, the great master of step dancing himself, who is still out-dancing all comers in his field, kept a huge audience on the edge of their seat Sunday afternoon and evening, despite the climbing temperatures.

Along with Donnie were many of his finest pupils including Danny Charette of Pointe Gatineau, who was accompanied by Al Manzoli and Brent Ostrom.
