Local News: Mrs. Wm. Turrieff and son have opened up a restaurant and ice cream parlour with homemade cooking in the stand of the old drug store, Murray Bros. block.

“At the End of the Rainbow”, a college comedy, staged at the skating rink in Shawville on Wednesday evening last by the young people’s bible class of Cobden Methodist Church, under the auspices of the Mission Circle of Shawville Methodist Church, came off very successfully, considering that the weather was not altogether favourable to a large attendance. The program was a humourous impromptu speech of a reminiscent character by Mr. W.J. Connelly which was heartily enjoyed by the audience.

Manitoba farmers were hit hard last week by hail storms in several localities, but the Foxwarren district is reported to have suffered the most damage, the loss amounting to about 80 per cent of the crop, it is said.
