J.L. Hodgins meet Fina Dairy in finals: As a result of last week’s action, Don Knox’s J.L. Hodgins Selects get an opportunity to make it three series winners in three years for Donnie as they encounter Bill Anderson’s Fina Dairy team.

On Aug. 19, Clarendon Hotel locked horns with Fina Dairy and came out on top of a 6-5 count, behind the superb pitching of Elson Schock. The second game of the evening was won in the bottom of the 8th inning on an infield single by Jim McIntyre as Wilson’s defeated J.L. Hodgins 7-6.

J.L. Hodgins took Wilson in the second game 11-4 lead by a six hit performance by Donnie Knox.

Campbell’s Bay Summer Festival Phase II: One of the big events of the three-day Campbell’s Bay Summer Festival was the “Moto-Cross” racing which took place on Sunday afternoon.

Some 80 riders from as far away as New York and Peterborough took part in the races to make the event one of the truly exciting contests of the weekend.

A talent show took place Saturday with a great many contestants. Doug Foley was the M.C. and Gil Roy of Ottawa, international step-dancing champion, was a special guest and performer.

Winning in the singing contest, age group 5-10, was Eldon Ostrom with Brent Ostrom on guitar and Kevin Coyne at the piano. Eldon also proved to be a great dancer in the dancing contest.
