Luskville and Eardley gather for RA community weekend: The Eardley Recreation Association (RA) held a community weekend for Luskville and Eardley this past weekend, attended by about 200 people.
The Luskville recreation park housed all the entertainment, including live performances by Lee Cluthier and Paulette Lamoureux of Luskville and the Nelson Blakeney Band from Aylmer.
Games for children and adults were held Saturday followed by a corn roast.
“Hopefully next year we can make it bigger and better,” said RA president Garry Dagenais, noting that the event went well for a first-time affair.
Young adventurers take on whitewater: Thirteen potential whitewater kayakers rose early Monday morning to begin a five-day whitewater kayak school for teens at Equinox Adventures.
They are the second group of teens to brave the Ottawa River under the instruction of Brendan Grant and Hugh Dupreez during the two weeks of instruction dedicated to youth ages 14-19.
“It’s an opportunity for them to decide whether they like kayaking,” Dupreez said, adding that the school gives the teens a good foundation in the sport if they decide to take it up.

To the ladies who prepared this, we would like to compliment you. The evening was spent playing six hand euchre and everyone went home feeling it was an evening well spent in comradeship and fun.
