The Way We Were:

Local News: The Pontiac Lions Club held their regular meeting at the Bryson Lodge Hotel on Aug. 3. The guest speaker of the evening was immediate past deputy-district Governor Tom Moorhead who gave a very interesting talk on his recent trip to Chicago at the International Convention.

Rev. M.S. Winger of Stevensville, Ont. is conducting meetings in the gospel tent at Stark’s Corners. For old-fashioned fearless preaching of the bible, there is none better.

Rev. House states that the tent will be up until Aug. 13. These meetings are in cooperation of Shawville and Bristol Ridge churches.

A largely attended meeting of the Catholic Women’s League was held recently at the home of Mrs. Fabian Trudeau and Mrs. Raymond Trudeau.

The draw for a quilt made by Mrs. Stephen Trudeau and donated to the C.W. L. was held. The winner being Charles Elliott of Arnprior.

Following the business session of the meeting, a very pleasant evening was enjoyed with cards and bingo being played.

Bristol Memorial Ladies Aid held a very successful sale of fancy work and home baking at Burnham Hall, Norway Bay recently.
