On Saturday morning Dr. S.E. McDowell Elementary School’s gym was filled to bursting with all kinds of hand-crafted goods, food and artwork for the annual Pontiac Artisans Christmas Market.
Natasha Beardsley of Bristol Bee Honey was the organizer of the event, and said that she was pleased with the turnout of around 40 tables.
“We do it once a year, every Christmas. It started out online out of necessity because of covid,” she said. “We kind of transitioned three years ago to in-person, so this is the third. All proceeds from the table sales go to the Home and School committee of McDowell.”
Throughout the gymnasium and through the hall, attendees could buy everything from soaps to Wagyu steaks, and even children’s clothing.
“We had a lot of really unique vendors this year, so it’s good,” Beardsley said.
In addition to a 50/50 raffle, Beardsley said they had teamed up with Café 349 to donate coffee with infused honey that was sold at the event, bringing in a grand total of $1,492.50.

Natasha Beardsley, de Bristol Bee Honey, était l’organisatrice de l’événement et s’est dite satisfaite de la participation d’environ 40 kiosques.
« Nous le faisons une fois par an, chaque Noël. Il a commencé en ligne par nécessité en raison de la COVID », a-t-elle dit. « Nous sommes passés en personne il y a trois ans, c’est donc la troisième édition. Tous les profits des ventes de kiosques vont au comité Foyer-école de McDowell. »
Dans le gymnase et le long du couloir, les participants pouvaient acheter de tout, des savons aux steaks de Wagyu, et même des vêtements pour enfants.
« Nous avons eu beaucoup de vendeurs vraiment uniques cette année, c’est bien », a dit Mme Beardsley.
En plus d’un tirage 50/50, Mme Beardsley a dit qu’ils s’étaient associés au Café 349 pour faire don de café au miel infusé qui a été vendu à l’événement, ce qui a permis d’amasser un total de 1 492,50 $.
