Historic Shawville High School Photo Exhibit

A special exhibit featuring Shawville High School graduate photos from 1932 and from 1956 to 1968 is now on display at Café 349 in Shawville (349 rue Main). The collection will be available for viewing until May 3rd, offering a glimpse into the town’s history through the years. Additionally, yearbooks from these eras can be found at the Pontiac Archives, conveniently located just across the street (358 Rue Main).

To encourage more women to run in the upcoming municipal elections this November, AGIR Outaouais is organizing a discussion panel with women elected officials from the Pontiac MRC. The event will take place on April 30 at 1:00 p.m., at the Elsie Gibbons Room in the MRC Pontiac office. The invited panelists are: Jane Toller (Warden of the Pontiac MRC), Christine Francoeur (Mayor of Fort-Coulonge), Jennifer Quaile (Mayor of Otter Lake), Sandra Armstrong (Mayor of Mansfield-et-Pontefract), and Sidney Squitti (Councillor for Alleyn and Cawood). They will share their personal journeys, the reflections that shaped their involvement, and what motivated them to take the leap into municipal leadership. The next Farm Hop will be on May 3rd and 4th, 2025 from 10am to 3pm in the Chemin Cregheur area of Luskville Quebec. The Farm Hop was born out of a desire to share our farms and sustainable practices with our local community. The first of its kind in the area, we are hoping it will be embraced and loved for providing original, quality handmade wares and art, and further peoples knowledge on wellness and sustainability. I hope you can make it out support your local community! Four farms and a vineyard will be participating and each farm has animals to see and will have their wares on offer as well as hosting other artisans.
