We are happy to announce our second Trivia Night. Please register your team in advance. 1-6 people per team - $10 per person. Age 12+ Please reach out by email to associationrecreativeladysmith@gmail.com with the number of teammates and a team name! Trivia will be hosted by Greg Atkinson, and runs from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Make sure to arrive by 6:30 to get settled in. Bar will be open to purchase drinks and snacks. (Cash only) 50/50 tickets will be available for purchase at the canteen and we will have a draw at the end of the night, as well as prizes for the winning team. If anyone is interested in donating some door prizes please reach out. Looking forward to seeing you there!

We at the Parents’ Voice Shawville Area are excited to offer these two workshops! July 5 & July 19 from 11:00-12:00.
Have partnered with Pure Conscience to offer two 1 hour planting workshops for parents and children.
The workshop will include the following activities:
  1. How to read seed labels
  2. Knowing what and when to plant
  3. Getting your hands dirty with planting!
  4. Planning your garden
  5. Some gardening tips and tricks
  6. Trimming plants
  7. Fall garden planning

Gaelic Roots: The Irish Language in the Ottawa Valley

The Bromley Historical Society welcomes Dónall Ó Dubhghaill to speak on “Gaelic Roots: The Irish Language in the Ottawa Valley” on Sunday, July 13, 2pm, at the Old Town Hall, 498 Micksburg Road, Osceola. Renowned for its strong Irish heritage, many of the early Irish settlers of the Ottawa Valley spoke Irish.  A Celtic Studies scholar and educator, Mr. Ó Dubhghaill will delve into the rich history of the Irish (Gaelic) language, tracing its ancient roots in Ireland, its journey across the Atlantic, and its vibrant life within the Ottawa Valley. This free presentation is open to the public. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
