Police have suspended the search for a resident of Mansfield-et-Pontefract who has been missing since last Friday.

A June 19 press release from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said Jérôme Hérault, 66, was last seen on Friday morning on an ATV with his dog in a wooded section of the municipality, and that his family has reason to fear for his health and safety.

SQ spokesperson Sgt. Marc Tessier said after several days of searching the area near Hérault’s residence on rue Monseigneur Pilon, including by ATV, with their canine unit, by horse, by drone and by helicopter for two days, police called off the ground search on June 24.

“If we have new information it’s not impossible that we will do something else regarding searching but for now it has been suspended because everywhere that we’re supposed to look, or think he went, was done,” he said.
An investigation remains ongoing.

Hérault is described as 1.70 m (5 ft 7 in) tall, weighs 104 kg (230 lb) with grey hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black and purple helmet as well as a black and red jacket.

Anyone who sees Hérault is asked to call 9-1-1.
