Local news: Mr. C. J. Caldwell of the Hardware Store, last week installed an up-to-date gasoline pump and storage tank in front of his store.
R. G. Hodgins has in course of erection a large store house for dressed lumber, doors, sash and other building supplies. The building, which is set on a concrete foundation, is 46 x 72 feet, and is calculated to hold about 200,000 feet of lumber. It makes quite an important addition to the otherwise complete, up-to-date plant.
Those who have motored north lately—and there have been quite a number, including a sprinkling of Americans and city folk—have been curious to know whether the condition of Robinson’s Hill is due to a natural Spring upheaval of the ground, or if an earthquake gave a local demonstration of its mysterious force at that particular spot. The necessary ray of light on the matter will have to come from some other source. We are not venturing any solutions.
Miss Verna McKnight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew McKnight, of Radford, is one of the class of young ladies who graduate as nurses at the Civic Hospital on Wednesday of this week.
Mr. Bob Morris has retired from co-partnership in the Ottawa House, Campbells Bay, and has returned to his home in Ottawa. Mr. P. B. Moyle will continue running the hotel.
