Tentative agreement in C-B strike: Robert Pelletier, president of Local 420, Canadian Paperworkers Union, announced at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday that the union had come to a tentative agreement with Consolidated Bathurst Limited. He and his negotiating team had been meeting all last week at the Valley Motel in Renfrew with officers of the Company. On the team were Leonard Rogers and Fergus Wrinn of Bryson, Bill Atkinson of Shawville and Robert Eiswald of Portage du Fort. 

The details of the tentative agreement will be divulged at a special meeting to be held at Bryson Town Hall Thursday night. Should the agreement meet with the approval of the members it will be ratified at that special meeting. This would mean the end of the strike at the Pontiac Mill.

Most Valuable player was Camen Valade from Wakefield. The trophy was donated by Bob Bowen Restaurant. Winners trophy donated by W.A. Hodgins Store was won by Wakefield beating Shawville Bombers.
