The Way We Were:

Pony Club turns over funds to Shawville Home for the Aged: The now inactive Shawville Pony Club wound up its eventful life several years ago with just over a hundred dollars in the bank. Since they had no further use for the money, the executive decided to turn it over to someone who could put it to use.

Inasmuch as the Shawville Home for the Aged has finally issued tenders for construction and therefore seems likely to become a reality within the foreseeable future, they decided to make their small fund available to that organization. The money will be used for some special item which would not be otherwise provided.

This is a departure for the Pony Club which, during its active years, made numerous donations of items for the children’s ward at the hospital. This last donation however goes for the comfort and enjoyment of Shawville’s senior citizens.

Caliber of Town Hockey on the up: The Town Hockey calibre has improved this season with the addition of senior players and overaged juniors playing in the league.
