A party of sixteen school girls went to Bryson and spent a few hours near the site of the power dam which has been the scene of numerous picnics and festal gatherings, in time long past, when the massive, imposing structure which absorbs the interest of the visitor of today was scarcely even conjured up by the most flighty imagination.
Parties in all walks of life and from a wide section of the Ottawa Valley were in Shawville on Tuesday to pay their last tribute of respect to the remains of the late Robt. H. Klock, M.D.
Preliminary work on the erection of Mr. Proudfoot’s new hotel on the old site, commenced this week. Mr. W. Moore of Renfrew has the contract.
