The Way We Were:

Local News: About 8 inches of snow fell in this locality on Saturday and on Monday noon it had all disappeared.

Owing to the continued dry weather, and remarkably good doing for the season, auto traffic in this section became pretty general last week.

The agreement between the Ottawa River Power Co. and the Corporation of Shawville for a supply of electricity for light and power purposes, has been duly executed and signed by the representatives of the contracting parties, after the matter had been under deliberation for several months.

Quite a large crowd attended Auctioneer Chisnell’s sale at W.J. Stark’s last Thursday.

Mr. E.T. Hodgins took over the Secretary-Treasurership of the Pontiac Rural Telephone Co., his being the lowest tender for the work.

The question of the County Registrar-ship has been settled by the appointment of Mr. Fred Howie who succeeds Mr. Walter Rimer who resigned after over half a century of service in that capacity.
