Local News: Mr. Reuben Smith, our local apiarist, has been enjoying an unusual experience this fall. He has a number of bee-yards at various points in the township and at one of these, has made friends with a partridge that makes it habitat in the woods nearby. When he visits this particular yard, this bird has come out and made friends with him and has become so chummy that he can even take it in his arms. He has not been especially feeding it to attract it, but perhaps the bird comes to gather up particles of comb and honey that fall to the ground as he works among the hives.
