Le conseil de Shawville a adopt\u00e9 le 13 mai une \u00e9bauche d\u2019entente qui pourrait voir le Service d\u2019incendie de Shawville-Clarendon (SISC) \u00e9tendre ses services \u00e0 la Municipalit\u00e9 de Thorne.<\/p>\n

Il s\u2019agit de la plus r\u00e9cente d\u2019une s\u00e9rie d\u2019\u00e9bauches qui a d\u00e9but\u00e9 l\u2019an dernier, lorsqu\u2019un comit\u00e9 d\u2019incendie conjoint entre Shawville et Clarendon a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 envisager une \u00e9ventuelle entente pour inclure le service \u00e0 Thorne.<\/p>\n

Bien que l\u2019entente adopt\u00e9e par le conseil de Shawville ne soit pas d\u00e9finitive et puisse encore faire l\u2019objet de modifications, le maire Bill McCleary a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que l\u2019entente pourrait ressembler \u00e0 celle que Shawville et Clarendon ont avec Portage-du-Fort, qui paie des frais annuels de 25 000 $ plus les d\u00e9penses li\u00e9es aux incendies sur son territoire.<\/p>\n

Thorne est desservie par un service conjoint avec Otter Lake appel\u00e9 Pontiac Nord depuis 2021, lorsque les deux services ont fusionn\u00e9 en raison du faible nombre de pompiers \u00e0 Thorne.<\/p>\n

Mme Kelly a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que parfois, Pontiac Nord et le SISC r\u00e9pondent \u00e0 des appels au lac Thorne et \u00e0 d\u2019autres endroits \u00e0 la fronti\u00e8re entre les municipalit\u00e9s de Thorne et de Clarendon, et elle esp\u00e8re que l\u2019entente \u00e9liminera certaines de ces confusions.<\/p>
