Le parc Mill Dam de Shawville fourmillait d’activit\u00e9s tout au long de la matin\u00e9e de samedi, alors que The Parents\u2019 Voice y organisait sa F\u00eate du parc biennale.<\/p>\n

Une foule d’activit\u00e9s ax\u00e9es sur les enfants \u00e9taient organis\u00e9es pour tous les \u00e2ges, y compris des ch\u00e2teaux gonflables, un clown et un artiste de tatouage \u00e0 l’a\u00e9rographe qui a donn\u00e9 \u00e0 de nombreux enfants leurs tout premiers \u00ab tatouages \u00bb. Il y avait aussi un spectacle de magie et une pr\u00e9sentation d’animaux vivants par Meet the Keepers, o\u00f9 les enfants ont pu s’approcher de reptiles et d’autres petites cr\u00e9atures dans le cadre d’une exp\u00e9rience amusante et \u00e9ducative.<\/p>\n

Un camion de pompiers \u00e9tait stationn\u00e9 \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 pour que les enfants puissent y grimper et l’explorer, le Club Lions a nourri tout le monde avec un barbecue, et The Parents\u2019 Voice a distribu\u00e9 des barbotines glac\u00e9es gratuites pour aider \u00e0 combattre la chaleur.<\/p>\n

The Parents\u2019 Voice alterne chaque ann\u00e9e entre l’organisation d’une f\u00eate du parc et d’une activit\u00e9 \u00ab touche un camion \u00bb. Cette ann\u00e9e, il s’agissait de la huiti\u00e8me F\u00eate du parc du groupe.<\/p>\n

La premi\u00e8re f\u00eate a \u00e9t\u00e9 organis\u00e9e pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer la nouvelle aire de jeux que The Parents\u2019 Voice a aid\u00e9 \u00e0 obtenir. Depuis, le groupe a organis\u00e9 les f\u00eates pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer d’autres ajouts au parc pour lesquels il a recueilli des fonds, notamment l’installation d’une toile d’ombrage, le bac \u00e0 jouets, une biblioth\u00e8que libre-service et la plantation d’arbres d’ombrage.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Maintenant, en fait, la F\u00eate du parc existe juste pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer le magnifique parc que nous avons \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Alina Holmes, pr\u00e9sidente de The Parents\u2019 Voice, alors qu’elle se tenait \u00e0 l’ombre des arbres plant\u00e9s par le groupe il y a 10 ans.<\/p>\n

\u00ab C’est un peu un r\u00eave pour nous d’\u00eatre ici et de voir \u00e0 quel point les arbres sont grands maintenant. Nos enfants \u00e9taient les petits quand nous avons commenc\u00e9 cela, et maintenant nos enfants sont des adolescents qui se prom\u00e8nent en aidant, et il y a toute une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de petits enfants. C’est assez sp\u00e9cial. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Elle a dit que l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement attire habituellement environ 150 \u00e0 200 familles.<\/p>\n

\u00ab C’est vraiment agr\u00e9able de voir toute la communaut\u00e9 se rassembler et se pr\u00e9senter. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Vanessa Levesque \u00e9tait l’une des nombreuses personnes pr\u00e9sentes \u00e0 l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement avec leur famille. En regardant la performance de Meet the Keepers, elle a dit que chaque fois qu’ils entendent parler des \u00e9v\u00e9nements de Parents\u2019 Voice, ils aiment y participer.<\/p>

\u00ab C’est excellent pour les enfants \u00bb, a-t-elle dit.<\/p>\n

Holmes a dit que le groupe a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 il y a 12 ans, par d\u00e9sir d’apporter \u00e0 cette petite communaut\u00e9 des \u00e9v\u00e9nements et des activit\u00e9s pour les jeunes familles que l’on devrait autrement aller chercher en ville.<\/p>\n

Le groupe compte maintenant huit membres \u00e0 temps plein et quelques membres \u00e0 temps partiel qui aident \u00e0 organiser les activit\u00e9s. \u00c0 l’approche de l’automne, il organisera des ateliers pour tout-petits et des ateliers sur la parentalit\u00e9, ainsi que d’autres cours. Tous leurs \u00e9v\u00e9nements peuvent \u00eatre trouv\u00e9s sur la page Facebook du groupe.<\/p>\n

\u00ab L’objectif est simplement que plus nous pouvons apporter ici et maintenir dans notre communaut\u00e9, mieux c’est pour nos enfants, mieux c’est pour nos familles \u00bb, a dit Holmes.<\/p>\n
