Le jeune espoir de balle molle de Shawville, Cade Kuehl, a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 pour l\u2019alignement final de l\u2019\u00e9quipe nationale U18 du Canada qui se rendra \u00e0 un tournoi international en Argentine plus tard cet automne. <\/p>\n

Le receveur de 18 ans a d\u00e9j\u00e0 connu un \u00e9t\u00e9 fulgurant, apr\u00e8s avoir remport\u00e9 une m\u00e9daille d\u2019argent aux Jeux du Canada avec \u00c9quipe Qu\u00e9bec et une de bronze aux championnats masculins de balle molle U20 cet \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 Saskatoon. <\/p>\n

Kuehl a dit avoir particip\u00e9 \u00e0 des essais plus t\u00f4t cet \u00e9t\u00e9, o\u00f9 des entra\u00eeneurs et des pr\u00e9parateurs physiques ont pris des mesures athl\u00e9tiques des joueurs potentiels. Il a ajout\u00e9 que des recruteurs d\u2019\u00c9quipe Canada \u00e9taient \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sents \u00e0 ses matchs cet \u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Plus t\u00f4t cette semaine, Softball Canada a annonc\u00e9 que Kuehl avait \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 pour l\u2019alignement final de 16 joueurs. <\/p>\n

\u00ab C\u2019est un objectif sur lequel je travaille depuis aussi longtemps que je me souvienne, alors d\u2019entendre enfin que c\u2019\u00e9tait officiel, c\u2019\u00e9tait plut\u00f4t cool \u00bb, a-t-il dit. <\/p>\n

Il a estim\u00e9 que son jeu lors de ces grands tournois cet \u00e9t\u00e9 a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 ce qu\u2019il soit choisi parmi d\u2019autres espoirs. <\/p>\n

\u00ab J\u2019ai eu un bon tournoi pour moi aux Championnats canadiens \u00e0 Saskatoon, alors je pense que cela a \u00e9galement aid\u00e9 ma cause \u00bb, a-t-il dit. <\/p>\n

\u00c9quipe Canada se rendra en Argentine d\u00e9but octobre pour les Championnats panam\u00e9ricains et pourrait se qualifier pour les Championnats du monde si elle termine parmi les quatre premi\u00e8res. <\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9quipe ne s\u2019entra\u00eenera pas ensemble avant la semaine du tournoi, mais Kuehl a dit qu\u2019entre-temps, un groupe de mentors du Pontiac l\u2019aide \u00e0 s\u2019entra\u00eener pour ce grand moment.<\/p>\n

Matt Greer, qui fait partie de ce groupe, a dit qu\u2019il est fier de voir Kuehl atteindre un objectif qu\u2019il poursuit depuis qu\u2019il est jeune. <\/p>

\u00ab Je pense qu\u2019il savait que c\u2019\u00e9tait un objectif ambitieux de porter le rouge et le blanc, mais il a mis beaucoup de temps, d\u2019efforts et d\u2019\u00e9nergie pour y arriver \u00bb, a-t-il dit. <\/p>\n

Il a dit que si certains joueurs du Pontiac ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 diverses versions du camp d\u2019\u00c9quipe Canada, peu d\u2019entre eux ont fait partie de l\u2019alignement final. \u00ab C\u2019est tout un accomplissement. \u00bb  <\/p>\n

Greer a ajout\u00e9 qu\u2019il voit le succ\u00e8s de Kuehl inspirer les jeunes joueurs de balle molle de la communaut\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler plus fort pour atteindre leurs objectifs. <\/p>\n

\u00ab Je vois vraiment beaucoup plus d\u2019\u00e9nergie chez les jeunes qui disent : \u00ab\u00a0Peut-\u00eatre que je pourrais faire \u00e7a\u00a0\u00bb \u00bb, a-t-il dit. <\/p>\n

Kuehl a dit qu\u2019il va continuer \u00e0 travailler sur son jeu en solo jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce qu\u2019il s\u2019envole pour l\u2019Argentine afin de commencer \u00e0 s\u2019entra\u00eener avec l\u2019\u00e9quipe. Il a dit qu\u2019il a h\u00e2te de jouer \u00e0 la balle molle de haut niveau contre de nouveaux adversaires internationaux. <\/p>\n
